We are “Rev’d Up” to offer a wide variety of classes in every genre to create well-rounded artists of all ages.
Revolution Dance Academy’s Performing Arts Ensemble (PAE) is back to business in anticipation of another successful competition season. We are happy to see lots of familiar faces, as well as some new ones in our Bottle Rockets, Sparklers, Firecrackers, Youth Company and Company Ensembles!
Our “dance family” continues to grow… and we are off to a great start!!!
It began with PAE’s Annual Kick-off Barbeque in August – and now just a few weeks into RDA’s Fall program, several Company and Youth Company dances have already been choreographed by talented guest artists. Other pieces are in the process of being choreographed by RDA’s incredible instructors. Rehearsals are going strong and our dancers are working hard to perfect their craft. Their dedication is inspiring and we can’t wait to see everyone on stage! The next few months will be filled with rehearsals, community performances (including Boo at the Zoo in October), and other team-building activities.
This year we sent one of RDA’s senior dancers off to college. Kathleen (Kat) Belarde just settled into her dorm at Pace University in New York City, where she was one of a select group of freshmen accepted into its prestigious Commercial Dance Program. She also received an academic scholarship. Congratulations, Kat – we are so proud of you!
Revolution Dance Academy also welcomes back former PAE dancer, Ceresa Freehling, who spent the last year with The Young Americans. Ceresa studied at the performance group’s headquarters in Southern California before being accepted into its famous touring company. She spent five months abroad, performing and teaching youth classes in Europe and Japan. We are very excited to have her back in Colorado Springs to teach several classes at RDA this Fall. Welcome back, Ceresa!
