Laurie holds a BA in Dance in World Cultures and Visual Media from Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. She grew up in Colorado Springs studying jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop but found her passion in cultural dances as a teenager when she started learning Latin Ballroom. Her studies range from Salsa to Classical Indian Bharatanatyam, to Tahitian giving her an interesting perspective on dance in the West. In college, she was president of the UH Manoa Theatre and Dance Association and participated in professional and student productions. Today she films dance performances with her company Local Motion Productions and is happy to be teaching at Revolution Dance Academy.
